Meet the Client:
The Pathways Parent Training Program was specifically developed to teach parents of toddlers with autism how to address the unique needs of their child. Based on the most current research on intervention for toddlers with autism spectrum disorders, the early autism intervention training program uses an approach that promotes social engagement and communication with the intent of changing the developmental trajectory of the child and help children with autism become active participants in the world.
Utilizing evidence-based research on intervention practices for toddlers with autism, Pathways Parent Training Program teaches parents how to effectively address the unique learning and developmental needs of their toddler with or at risk for autism. Delivered in weekly 1.5 hour sessions, parents learn powerful strategies and skills needed to promote their child’s development and learning. With the support of the Pathways trained interventionist, parents will master these new strategies to address the core characteristics of autism in order to significantly minimize the effects of autism and change how their child interacts with the social environment.
Need:
The Pathways Parent Training Program had been using off the shelf solutions that required manual work to manage their business, and needed a custom software system to manage it for them in an easier, less time consuming, and more organized way. They required a system that would allow them to manage events and agencies, as well as provide the ability to add trainee courses, manage those trainees and track their progress, and issue training certificates through business process automation.
Solution:
After consulting with Pathways about their need for custom software development, Custom Software Lab built a custom digital ecosystem that matched the color palette and theme of the existing website. This new custom system gave the client the ability to add the multiple agencies they work with, and provide them with personal login information. Each agency now has the ability to login and invite their students/trainees to take the program.
The client can now create groups that include multiple trainees from different agencies to participate in a class. These training events are created right within a system that sends a calendar invite to trainees for both recurring or one time events.
Pathways now has the option to create categorized training courses that include different chapters by adding images, text, and video directly on the system that appear as slide shows to the trainees. Training materials are uploaded and categorized based on access to the agency, master coach, and trainees. Course progress is now easily tracked by Pathways allowing them to award certificates once the course is completed.
The online course builder and recurring event training module are unique characteristics of the project that allows Pathways to build classes and create recurring monthly meetings with any select group of trainees.
Result:
The Pathways Parent Training Program project took three months to complete. With custom business process automation services, the client gained the benefit of managing all of their agencies, trainees, master coaches, and staff in a simple to use, unified platform – allowing them to utilize their time for what matters most – teaching the parents of toddlers with autism how to help their children thrive.
