About the client:
5 Clubs was established by three avid golf-loving individuals – Steve Hall, James McCoy, and Gary Williams. By combining the power of multimedia with the passionate voices of golfers worldwide, 5 Clubs offers a platform for an ongoing dialogue about all that is golf.
Need
The client’s objective was to design a website, a social network, an online store, and a marketplace for golf lovers, all combined. The client wanted us to build a one-stop multi-media platform that emphasizes discovering and sharing as many stories as possible for golf lovers worldwide.
The idea was to recruit a team of contributors with diverse perspectives on the game to achieve this goal. Each contributor produces their own show, allowing them to freely explore the rich world of golf stories that are out there. The mission is to build an engaging multimedia platform where people within and outside the sport can easily share their ideas about golf.
Solution
When we set out to create a website that offers an exciting, realistic experience with plenty of features and multimedia content, including podcasts, HD videos, images, and animations, our project managers identified the challenges and began strategizing. Drawing from our pool of expert developers well-equipped to handle complex projects, we laid out the steps for success—brainstorming strategy, design approaches, development techniques, comprehensive testing, and more. And with that, we were well on our way!
Here are some of the features we added to the website:
Custom admin: Our custom WordPress admin platform allows for convenient podcast management; this includes embedding videos, integrating Soundcloud on PGA Tour pages, and more. This platform has been designed to make podcasting easy and efficient.
Video sharing: Provided a simple and easy image and video-sharing process to build a strong online community.
Podcast Search: It helps viewers find the relevant podcasts that are the best possible match to the search term. The main factors we used to order the search results include popularity, metadata, and user behaviors.
Blog section: We added a blog section to be a catalyst for email marketing, social media promotion, driving search traffic, and a medium to express thoughts on golf.
News: The client can now share relevant news and perspectives in the “News” section. Readers will also have the option to click on external links to get additional information. This is a great way for the client to keep their readers in the loop about the latest happening within their platform as well as any buzz being shared elsewhere on other websites and social media outlets.
Event booking: Designed a powerful system that enables users to search, book, and pay for upcoming golf events. Payments can be made for team registration as well as individual player registrations. All of this is done in an intuitive and easy-to-use interface.
E-commerce store: Designed an online store where customers can purchase golf merchandise. The store is user-friendly and easy to navigate, making it a great resource for all golf lovers.
The 5 Clubs Spotlight: An initiative to shine a light on the individuals, organizations, foundations, and partners that are making golf a better game.
Result
